I teach elementary PE and would like to do something with the winter olympics. Do you have any ideas?

The winter olympics is a great way to introduce all kinds of fun activities and integrate other subjects such as social studies and geography.
I divide the class into equal teams of 4 or 5. Each class is allowed to choose a country they want to represent. No two countries can be represented in the same class. The team must show on the map for the rest of the class where their country is located. Before each day of activites, each team must share one fact about their country. I try to make someone different share each class. These facts are added to the team score that is totaled after the 2 weeks of games. Other activities I do are as follows: speed skating on turned over carpet squares, bob-sledding on scooters, floor hockey challenge with shooting at a goal, biathalon combines speed skating and throwing a ball at a target. I hope this helps.
