For years our department has been using the 'Beep" test, during which students perform a 20m shuttle runs until they drop out. It has proven itself to be one of the most reliable predictors of aerobic fitness and it is easy to conduct even with large number of kids.
However, the test was developed by the University of Loughborough (England) in order to predict VO2max uptake of athletes and the performance ratings provided relate to adults. No performance scale exits for younger students (i.e.12-15 years of age).
I was just wondering what other colleagues use and /or whether maybe some of you use the same 'Beep'test at your school and share with me their performance rating scale.
many thanks
