We have 60 students in our classes. Coaches divide the large football field into 5-6 smaller fields that run across the width. I am looking for docuemtation that says it is OK to do this. I realize it is common practice , but need it in writing. Thanks everyone

What kind of documentation do you need? Sound like your staff is doing a great job with the small sided acitivties.

6 field/ 60 students = 5 on 5 on each field. That sounds excellent. That is the max I would do per field.

If you can get 7 fields and do 4 on 4 that would be even better.

I need documentation or a diagram showing the breakdown of a larger field into smaller ones. We know it is common practice and it works. We have "important people" asking for proof that it is an accepted and taught practice. Wish I could find something from a University or a P.E. association.

Ask them if it would be better to play a game of
30 on 30 using the entire field. Funny how common sense now needs to be shown as researched, documented and an accepted practice. Too many anal people with too much time on their hands.
Just find the research where it shows smaller groups are good ways to teach new games and skills. Smaller groups=smaller play areas.
