I was wondering what people thought about advanced P.E. classes. There are all different advances classes that students can take at my high school but there was never one for P.E.

I remember at my high school we had an advanced P.E. class. I think it was a good way to incorperate some different activities that an educator might not be able to cover in the normal P.E. class. It also provided an opportunity to be a little more demanding (not too much) on the students, as opposed to a normal P.E. class where you have to include students who may not be as athletic, as well as students who just don't care as much. I think it would be benificial in a middle/junior high too.

Hi, We are now offering PE electives for our students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. They can take high interval training, personal fitness in the weight room, competitive games, leisure activities, and coaching. So they are not really advanced P.E. classes, but they are specific and particular. We are hoping that with giving the students a choice, then we will have more of a willing population in each class.
