We all have students that from time to time are out with an injury that won't allow them to participate in the usual way. My question to the group is "What type of activities to you have students do when they are NOT allowed to do any physical activity (i.e. a concussion) and they still are sent to PE? Thanks!

Some ideas:
1) Have your students read a health/fitness related article you've found online and answer questions about the article.
2) They are in charge of one station and help the other students learn something or they help other students stay on task at this station
3) Have them work as a partner-coach where they are giving feedback on the performer and their skill level.
4) Have the student track the activities of 3-4 students. This tracking sheet can then be used to talk to other students about their involvement in class.
5) Have the student track the teacher and the directions they move. They could also track the people the teacher talked to during the class period.
6) Have them in charge of collecting some type of data from each student in class. Example: Running times.
