Strength training is a great activity for middle or high school aged students to get involved in. Most students at these ages are starting to lift and aren’t taught how to lift properly. They also have a limited number of workouts to do and don’t know which exercises help certain muscle groups. Strength training can be very beneficial for the students and will give them more exercises to do when working out. When lifting weights, it is very important for students to be shown the correct way in order for their muscles to gain the full benefits.

I agree with the statement posted strength training for middle school and high school ages should be taken with great caution. classes and websites could be posted that have the correct ways to lift, that are age appropriate.

Strength training is indeed a fantastic activity for middle and high school students to be involved with. I agree 100% and believe learning the proper techniques and lifts is a great area to begin learning in middle school. Yes, caution does certainly have to be placed at all times when it comes to lifting weights especially for middle school age children. That's why proper guidance and teaching starting in middle school is a great time to begin the journey of strength training and continue the safe practice into high school.
