· Review the National Standards for Sport Coaches National Standards for Sport Coaches before you start a new year at your school or university.
· Host a Backyards and Beyond Gathering or encourage colleagues, parents, students, and others in your community to host one and learn more about and advocate for issues that promote education, advocacy, implementation, and vigilance surrounding social justice issues that are relevant to girls and women in sport.
· The beginning of the school year is a great time to start planning for National Girls and Women in Sports Day, which will be held on February 4, 2009. The Community Action Kit will be available on September 1st. Check out the NGWSD web site for more information.
· October 1, 2008 is the application deadline for the Mary Jennings Sport Camp Scholarship Fund!
· If you haven't already, check out NAGWS's newest publications, including Title IX@35, Women as Leaders in Sport: Impact and Influence, and 100 Fantabulous Firsts in Women's Sports.
