i work for a summer camp for basketball that has both guys and girls camps, one thing i have noticed is that the girls camps are more fundamentally sound then the boys camps. i am curious because i don't work much with girls in sports outside of the summer camp and what i was wondering is are girls taught to be more fundamentally sound or is it that since on average guy athletes can be more athletic in some sports that they don't have to rely on fundamentals as much as the girls seem to. any comments having to do with my idea or maybe other ideas that have something to do with this topic are welcomed |

I have to agree with you that women are more fundamentally sound to sports than men. I am not sure why, but it something I have observed as well. For example,I played girls basketball growing up and always realized that girls during game play focus on things such as setting picks and setting up plays more often then men do,especially at youth or high school levels. Men always like to just get the ball and go where as women slow it down and try to set things up. I personally think it has to do with how women are taught the sport, it's just a little different than men's basketball. |
