When I went to high school our girls volleyball team were really good. However, no matter how many games we won or how far we made it in playoffs our school would not buy anything new for us. We were in dire need of a new net and new uniforms. Instead of the school spending money on us, they would always decide to buy new things for the football team who hadn't won a single game for the past 64 games. I feel that our school didn't want to spend money on a girls team when they could spend it on the boys team. Even though the football had a horrible record the school wanted them to have all of the best equipment. This never made any sense to me and I don't think what they did was right. Does this type of thing only happen at my school or does this happen to girls teams at other schools too? |

It happens everywhere. At my school our volleyball team had made it to playoffs and even states almost 4 years in a row. We needed new uniforms but never got them, at least as long as I was there. However, the football team, who was always losing, seemed to get new equipment every single year. I guess it is just because the football team drew in more fans, even though the volleyball team was the better team. |
