In high school, our girls basketball team went to the state tournament every year.We had a great bask for as long as I can remember. However, none of the students would support girls basketball, they would all go to the boys game who were just an average team. They woud get all dressed up in Halloween costumes and cheer the entire game. Our stands would be empty while the boys brought in fans from other schools around area. I just didnt think this was right. Did this happen to anyone else? |

This happened to our girl's volleyball team in high school. They were pretty decent for at least my last two years and would never get a crowd. The only people that would show up to watch were parents and siblings. It was sad! However, the boy's volleyball team, which lost every game, brought in cheering sections. It would be like going and watching a high school football game with the crowd they brought in. I honestly think it's unfair, but that is how people treat most womens sports anymore. I would love to figure out how to change that. |

It happen to our high school girls basketball team all four years I played too. We had a great record and the only people in the stands would be the families of the players. Its crazy how woman's sports don't get the same respect, support, and fans that the guys teams. I never understood why this happen year after year and game after game but it would always get on our team's nervous. We just used the frustration that we got from it towards winning and we most often then not would win and yet still nothing would change. It sucked. |
