I have 1 week to present my requests and ideas for a new elementary gymnasium floor. I have been needing a new one for a long time! The only thing I do know is that I do not want a 'sports gymnasium'...no basketball lines, volleyball lines, etc. I would very much like to incorporate the primary and secondary colors somehow (squares, circles, triangles...). I really don't know where to start...please help! Does anyone have a gymnasium floor that they just couldn't imagine being without? Would you be willing to share photos? What kind of floor material do I want? This is my one chance to have a say in what I would like. It will probably be the only new floor I'll ever have! HURRY! PLEASE HELP!

I would think that your gym is used after school for recreation programs for basketball, indoor soccer, etc. I would still have basketball court lines in addtion to the space being marked into thirds, halves, and quarters using different colors. Maybe a 2 lane "track" marked by color lines. Circles, triangles, squares are nice, but I would use poly spots or shoe polish for that. It would get a bit busy and would last for a long time...maybe even after you are gone and the new educator would be using your design...
