Hi there! I am currently a sophomore at Slippery Rock University studying Health and Physical Education. My question has to deal with rock climbing. I am taking a course here where we have learned the basics of rock climbing, how to tie specific knots, all of the safety precautions, etc. I'm really glad that I have been introduced to rock climbing because it's something I probably would have never tried on my own. Therefore, I think activities like this should be introduced to students... but my question is WHAT AGE??? This type of activity has many different safety issues and if the school where I would teach at is equiped with a climbing wall, I would want to make sure that I would be starting at a correct age level and taking all of the necessary steps. ANY THOUGHTS OR SUGGESTIONS?!?
