Our school has undergone a large renovation. Part of the renovation was a new surface on the gym floor. Because of the new surface, our building supervisor is telling us that we may no longer put tape on the floor to mark lines for things like volleyball and badmintton. What are some other options for marking out of bounds lines that won't mark the floor? Is there special tape that can be used that will leave no marks? I am looking forward to your response because our next option is cones, and I know that won't work well. |

I would recommend colored webbing (flat rope) you could tie it to a weighted object such at a brick to keep the webbing in place. Now it’s easily portable, storable, and will cost you next to nothing to buy. This webbing could be used for a verity of team building activities as well. |

I was under the impression that blue painters tape was safe for all surfaces. It is a bit more expensive but it should not leave any evidence that it was there. |

What about shoe polish? That comes up real easy.

Our school had the same issue because of the new wood floor that our school put in. We went to a white 3m tape that pulls up and safe for the surface. It does not stay down like the old tape, but we have used it for badminton courts and shuffle board with no problems. |
