I was just talking to a 2nd grade teacher just
now about it. She is immersed completely in
the process and stressed out. She said that 80% fail the first time applying. I would be interested in the process for PE teachers. Sounds like the ultimate D&P show. Its all how you present it and video yourself. No human beings come to visit or watch you.

I am in the middle of doing the nbpst for PE high school. Yes, it is alot of work, but most of the time is understanding the directions as to what they want you to show. I have learned so much just from just reading the teaching standards. One really learns alot about themselves and their own teaching. Having taught in the PE field for 29 years, I am excited about the challenge to address my teaching.

Im impressed, Jim. Sounds like a good idea just to read the standards. Would it be possible to send me a copy of that or post a link to them.

Steve, Thanks for the email. I would be happy to supply the valuable sourse for PE Teachers.Go to www.nbpts.org - On the Home page find Standards, Go down to standards by certificate-select (PE)
Select Level you teach-Early Adolesent(HS)or early/middle.
There is a wealth of knowledge for all teachers no matter what field they are in. Great inservice material for all schools.
Are you going to nationalin Baltimore in March?

Best of luck with the process!

Jim
