I know that it is hard to pick an activity that all the students will enjoy. Is there any particular activity that works well with high school students?

How about different sports that not only the athletes will excell in, but that allow other students to do well in as well.

I think it's important with High School to incorporate the types of music they like and try to get them dancing (routiens) and doing things like that that they find fun. Instead of games and sports what about yoga, outdoors, climbing, biking, weights, etc. A large variety is needed at this age. Not all students are into sports.

I completely agree that not all students are into sports, but when you have classes of 50 and VERY limited facilities/equipment, what options do you have? I am really interested in grant-writing because my school is desperately in need of new/different equipment. Any ideas?

For grant writing, check with your city then the county and then the state. After you work your way up the ladder then check nationaly with organizations such as Manufactures of sporting goods. E.G. Wilson,Nike, etc.

OK, so it's similar to other sports you might already play, but we've played it several times this week when the weather didn't permit us to go outside...ricochet. You may have heard of it. We play short (3 minute) games of 5 on 5 or 6 on 6, whatever works for your class. Teams pass a gator skin ball down the length of a b-ball court. Person in posession of ball is not allowed to take any steps and they have three seconds to pass it. Defense...man, no contact. Small indoor soccer nets are set up about 4 feet from wall, facing the wall. Players score by ricocheting the ball off the wall, into the net. No one is allowed behind the net, offense or defense. The kids have a blast...even the non athletes and it is a fast paced game during which the kids are in constant motion.
