Students that have an excused note from physical education.

How can I still have them be apart of the class instead of sitting on the side doing nothing?

I would say that it depends on the reason they are excused, depends on the student, and depends on the parents.

If it is an injury/sickness and the note is from a medical doctor than you probably cannot do much. I have given health articles for students to read and then give them a worksheet to complete. You can ask the students to help you with a task that you need completed. You can give them a tracking sheet to watch other students. I've used students to help run a station for fitness or to watch something specific during skill development times.
