do your students with iep's have the 'option' presented to opt out of pe?

Only if they have a documented medical reason for not taking physical education. Physical Education for students with an IEP is just as important as it is for any student. You can also write modifications that will need to be made to accomodate the student with and IEP. For example, we have several students who take modified test and/or have their tests read to them. You can also have a peer or paraprofessional helper IEP'd as a modification. Hope this helps.
