That's a good question, and there are so many answers to that. In my own mind, I feel a good teacher is a person who truly loves children and believes that no matter what, each one can succeed. Some qualities a good teacher has: respect for others at all times, compassion, trustworthy, genuine, open, and honest. They are not afraid to put themselves out there and show that they are human and show emotions.

"Good teacher" is a pretty all encompasing term. The assumption is that all good teachers care about all children, from special needs to the physically and academically gifted. Certainly it lends itself to being all those things that Christine listed. It also means that the individual is creative, communicative, sharing, curious, willing to investigate, open minded, willing to be as good a listener as a talker. A good teacher is willing and not afraid to ruffle feathers; to stand up for the betterment of teaching conditions/faciities and so on, because those items make for a better learning atmosphere for those very children for whom we all care about. It means being willing to take chances. Being a good teacher....perhaps an exceptional teacher means going beyond the immediate confines of the class room and the children for whom you are responsible. It means getting into the outside world, in a variety of ways and trying to improve all of those aspects that influence the quality of your teaching and the conditions under which you teach. It's a heck of a job, but the rewards on both sides of the coin are indescribable.

I believe a good teacher is someone who teaches the content well in a fun but thorough manner. It is also important to become aquainted with all students and show that you truly care about their acheivements and development.

I feel that a good PE teacher is one who takes an interest in their students and their students health. The want their students to learn fitness and wellness skills that will carry with them through life.
