I am doing a lesson on lacrosse. We use mats leaned up against the wall for goals. We also have plastic sticks and rubber, air-filled balls to play with. I have some students who clearly are ready to play a full game after only one day of an intro and drills. So my question is, how can I keep them interested while we continue doing drills and lessons to get the other students up to game playing level?

This can be done with effort. Each of the drills will have to be adapted to meet the skills of each student. If you are doing shooting drills place a chalk circle on the mat. Tell the students they can either try to score or if they feel confident try to hit the inside of the chalk circle. Other options include using them as the skilled person in a drill. if you were doing an activity where you need people to pass the ball to a shooter get the stronger students to be the passers. Other options include Reciprocal teaching. The students become teachers in this where they must provide feedback to their partner on what they did well and on how they can improve
