I helped at a Pre-School/Kindergarden and made this soccer lesson plan... the kids loved it.

Kinder Kickers
Lesson: Kicking and Passing
Materials Needed: Boundary mats, pinnies, cones, poly spots, milk jugs (pins), music, and soccer balls

Warm-Up: Tunnel Tag (10 min)
• Students will be in scatter formation around the gym floor with 2-4 students wearing colored pinnies. The pinnie students will be the taggers for the first round.
• On the "Go" command students will run and the taggers will try to tag them.
• If you get tagged, freeze and stand in a straddle position. The only way to get unfrozen is if another student crawls through the tunnel.
• The tagger can not tag someone if they are on the ground helping to unfreeze.
• Switch taggers after 30-45 seconds so that everyone gets a turn.

Lesson 2: Kicking and Passing (15 min)

The inside of the foot and instep kick are the most common types of passes for distance but can be used to score goals.

Critical Elements of inside of the foot pass:
1. Place non kicking foot beside the ball
2. Draw kicking foot back, toe turning outward
3. Eyes looking at target
4. Contact with inside of the foot
5. follow through in direction of target by straightening the knee

Critical Elements of instep pass:
6. Place non kicking foot beside the ball
7. Draw kicking foot back, toe pointing down
8. Eyes looking at target
9. Contact with top of foot (shoelaces)
10. follow through in direction of target by straightening the knee

Practice time: Set up the playing area with a goal for each pair in the class. The goal can be made up of two cones against the wall. Each partner gets a turn to pass the ball to the goal using both the inside of the foot pass and the instep pass. If they make it in the goal 5 times take a giant step back.
• Partners grab a soccer ball and go to a goal area along the wall
• Each partner practices both passes into the goal
• The non kicking partner can retrieve the soccer ball
• Make sure to take a step back if you kick it into the goal 5 times

Game: Bowling Pin Soccer (15 min)
• Form two equal teams, each team on opposite end lines of the gym.
• Place a row of poly spots on the white volleyball lines closest to half court. Place the pins (milk jugs) on the half court line.
• Each player has a ball and on the "Go" command students will dribble and kick the ball before the poly spot line and try to knock down as many pins as they can.
• Students can trap the ball before kicking.
• The team who knocks down the most pins wins.
