I am currently a junior health and physical education major. I enjoy participating in outdoor recreation; rock climbing, high/low ropes courses, running, kayaking, biking and swimming. In our major we only have one outdoor education course. I am interested in pursuing outdoor recreation more in depth with graduate school. I would love to still be able to teach in a school setting, but I am not sure how realistic my goals are here in PA. Is it realistic to think I can teach adventure education in PA, how prevalent are such programs in the schools? Will I need to shift my focus from being in a school atmosphere?
