National Physical Education and Sport Week (May 1-7, 2010)- “Move Every Body, Every Day, Every Way” Download Lesson Plans for May Week Each year NASPE develops activities for teachers and their students to do during National Physical Education and Sport Week. NASPE leaders and staff encourage all K-12 physical education teachers to take advantage of these wonderful resources to showcase the quality sport and physical education programs in your school and community. This year during National Physical Education and Sport Week there will be two contests: • Design a Physical Activity Calendar for NASPE's Teacher Toolbox • "What Physical Education Means to Me" Essay Contest Winners will be receiving prizes from Speed Stacks. Contests deadline: April 1, 2010 Attention PE Majors: Celebrating Technology and Innovation in Physical Education VIDEO CONTEST NASPE and Polar USA’s Celebrating Technology and Innovation in Physical Education Video Contest is a nationwide contest that provides physical education teacher candidates the opportunity to share their creative ideas on how to use technology and other innovative practices to make physical education more exciting to students. To Enter: 1. Create a video (not to exceed 2 minutes) and upload it to TheNASPEVideoContest YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheNASPEVideoContest. 2. Fill out a Contest Entry Form. 3. Videos must be uploaded and Contest Entry Forms received by April 1, 2010 to be eligible. Grand prize winner will receive: (1) Polar Companion Pocket PC and (1) Polar E600 heart rate monitor.
