Speed Stacks (http://www.speedstacks.com/img/logo.png) is joining forces with NASPE during National Physical Education and Sport Week, May 1-7 (http://www.aahperd.org/naspe/advocacy/events/mayWeek/index.cfm). NASPE is holding two contests for PE Teachers and their students and the winners will receive great Speed Stacks gear!
Design a Physical Activity Calendar for NASPE’s Teacher Toolbox
Have your students work as a class to create a physical activity calendar that could appear in NASPE’s Teacher Toolbox – NASPE’s most popular resource and most visited Web page.
Create a month of physical activity ideas for either 1) elementary school students or 2) secondary (middle and high) school students. One elementary school calendar and one secondary calendar will be selected.
The two winning classes will receive:
1) Publication of calendar in the 2010 September Back-to-School edition of NASPE’s Teacher Toolbox - school/class will be credited on the calendar, which is downloaded and distributed to thousands of students nationwide!
2) A 40-set Speed Stacks® Sport Pack to start a complete sport stacking program. Each Sport Pack will contain 40 sets of Speed Stacks cups, instructional materials including DVD and lesson plans as well as one each of our other supporting pieces of sport stacking equipment.
3) Recognition on the NASPE National Physical Education and Sport Week Web site.
4) Recognition in NASPE News.
What Physical Education Means to Me” Essay Contest
Looking for new interdisciplinary activity ideas for your physical education class? Have your students participate in the “What Physical Education Means to Me” Essay Contest during National Physical Education and Sport Week. Open to grades 1st through 12th.
Have your students answer the question: What does physical education mean to me?
One winner will be selected per grade level. Each winner will receive:
1) One Speed Stacks Glow-in-the-Dark StackPack. Each StackPack contains a set of Speed Stacks blue or green glow cups, a glow StackMat competition mat & timer, instructional DVD.
2) Recognition on the NASPE National Physical Education and Sport Week Web site.
3) Recognition in NASPE News.
