When I was in elementary or middle school, my physical education teachers never used heart rate monitors or pedometers to help teach class. As I can recall, all of my teachers in physical education were great, encouraging and taught educational and fun units and lessons. Not to say that they did anything wrong, but I really value heart rate training and think it's important that children understand the physiological responses associated with exercising. Heart rate monitors and pedometers are simple, easy to use and are useful to help children discover and learn about exercise and the benefits as well.
