What are your thoughts on having students allowed to bring in there own music for playing during an activity or warmup? Obviously i would preview the music for anything offensive, but i think it would get the students more involved because its music they enjoy rather than listening to jock james volume 3 all the time.

I let my students bring in their own music and I preview it. I take their CDs and then rip them into iTunes then play them in class. That way I can give them their CDs back immediately. It also allows me to create and edit playlists with ease. I just plug my iTunes into the stereo and am ready to go! Give it a try.
