What is the best piece of advice you would give to a new PE teacher?

Always look for the positive things kids do and
tell them about it. Even tell their parents when you can. And their classroom teachers.
Of course I have a million other things but you asked for one.

I am not a teacher yet, but make sure that you never bring your personal life into the classroom environment (gym or outside), because your attitude and demeanor set the pace for the class. Students can pick up on false motivation and low motivation really quick and it can ruin your class. You need to bring your A game at all times and never have a bad attitude.
