At the university I attend there is an equestrian center where students with disabilities from the community can take horse back riding lessons. How could this be incorporated into a high school without too many liabilities? |

I dont know if this could actually be incorporated into the highschool atmosphere unless it was an option for the students to take it and they arent forced to take it. This would also take many grants because having horses and the upkeep can be very expensive and taxes will not e able to cover this. |

I teach Adapted PE in a center program for physically and cognitively impaired students. I take groups on field trips all the time. I don't know why we couldnt set up something with horseback ridding. We have all kinds of programs in our area. all we are required to have are permission slips from parents and our district provides transportation. Any cost, depending on how much, comes from specail funding, donations, or the parents. |
