I am looking to teach in an Alternative School when I get out of school. I want to instill character and integrity into my students and really encourage them to take the high road. Has anybody here been to an alternative school or does anyone have any suggestions for even preparing for it?

I substitute at an alternative school. You might want to take a special education class as well as a behavior modication class. The kids I deal with have anger management or emtional problems and my psychology background has helped so much. I find that the cooperative education games in the book Quicksilver to be quite helpful in getting them to learn how to communicate and work with others.
