I am a student nearing the end of my certification at Slippery Rock University in PA. I have done some extensive research and have explored the influx of studies indicating the benefits of PE. Not only the physical benefits but the mental and learning benefits as well.

My question relates to strategies I can use to spread useful and educational information around my community about the benefits of PE. I began my education as a student with a love for Physical Education but have turned into a strong believer and advocate for maximal PE in our schools. What are some strategies that some of you out there have used to enlighten the many people who are still in the dark about how important PE really is?

Chris, I recommend that you go to the NASPE home page at www.naspeinfo.org and select Media and Advocacy. There is a lot of information there that can help you "spread the good word" about the importance of physical education. In addition, to these materials, on the NASPE home page, look at Quick Links on the right margin and see Advocacy Resources. I also suggest that you join NASPE Talk and post your question there.
