Found a book that not only advocates playing dodgeball in school PE classes, but defends it as well. A humous read but points out some interesting idea for thought. Has a lot of games listed with diagrams-seems easy to follow. The best part is the section on student strategies. This author clearly knows what he is talking about and watches his students carefully.

If interested go to Authorhouse.com and click on the bookstore. The title is The Complete Book About Dodgeball.

I'll check that out Joe. I am a big advocate of dodgeball and think that it should be brought back into the school system. Thanks for the post.

I am a huge advocate of playing dodgeball in PE class at all levels! I'm so happy to hear that there is a book out there that helps us defend this great game. It even has diagrams and games listed! I'm going to buy it ASAP! Thanks for the info!

You realize that anybody, yes, anybody can play dodgeball. That includes classroom teachers , custodians, parents and even school board members. This means that your job is easy , done by anybody , with no real value and I guess your job can be in jeopardy. You will be looked at easily replacable. It isn;t developmentally appropriate and doesn't meet Naspe standards , which is a way to advocate your teaching position.
