Hey! I am wondering if anyone is willing to give me tips on someday in the future coaching a swim team. I am a physical education major at Slippery Rock, and an aquatics minor, wanting to know if there is a good or bad way to teach, how to keep the kids interested, and what types of techniques I could use! Anything will be helpful!
Thank you!!
Amanda

Well Amanda im sure you have alot of experience in swimming if you are interested in coaching it. One Of the biggest things i would have to say is that u must know your athletes, and know how to coach and taper. for instance sprinters shouldnt swimm 10,000 yards in practic they are short and fast so all those yards will do nothing but hurt them. This goes for everyone, also the last thing i would like to tell you is let them have fun, swimming is one of the hardest sports and really is no fun when you think about it, you cant talk you cant do much but swim up and down. So let them play a game or two a week, give them suprise sets like 1000 yard swimm get outs and let them go home to rest. because once you lose you athlets bc they are burnt out you most likley wont get them back again.
