Any tips on dealing with a caoch that is very negative to young players. I have a very different style than the coach I am working with. What are some ways to help make him more positive?

I remember when I played high school softball the coach we had was always putting us down and never said anything good about our performance during the games or at practice. I remember the assistant coach tried to talk to him and explain to him that we were just young adults and we need positive feed back as well as the negative. Maybe you can try just talking with him about it.

When dealing with a negative coach I would always sit the coach down and discuss the issues at hand. I would remind him that winning is not always the only thing. Young children need the positive feedback so that their self-esteem is not always bad. I believe sitting down the coach and discussing the issues is your best approach.
