What is a good way to break the ice with your students when first becoming a coach?

You could play an icebreaker game like "Truth,Truth Lie" and participate yourself. Make a couple of true statements about your background, plus one outlandish lie. It will help your athletes get to know you and learn about your qualifications and motivations...and the fact that you have a sense of humor. There's an article about the game at:
