In high school, I noticed a dilemma that I do not think is right on our boys track and field team. All the boys coach cared about was winning. He made people do certain events and did not let them choose. We,(the girls team) got to pick our 2-4 events and we were champions all four years I was there. The boy's on the other hand were good as well, but I don't think got as much out of it and had as much fun. What is everyones opinion on this. Should athletes get to pick some of their events and have the coach be the final say, or should the athletes have no say in what they do and just do it for the good of the team?

the atheltes should definiltly have a say but if the athlete has more way more potential in another event and wants to do the other event he is not as good at, as coach you need to push him to pursue his best event not only will this be more benficial to the team but to him as well.

I think the athletes should get a say at first in what events they do, but if they turn out to struggle in that event, the coach must help them to see if maybe there is a new event they might be better at.
