Plyometrics is a great way to strengthen and build up leg muscles, buld fast twitch muscle fibers and increase balance. Plyometrics is a series of jumps and bounds as quickly and fluently as possible. The idea behind plyometrics is not to pause between jumps and bounds. It is meant to be one continuous motion. The only downfall to this type of training is that it is a lot of pounding on the knees and other joints. Overall it is a great training program and has been known to increase speed as well as the vertical jump.
