I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of how to make volleyball more interacting with all of the players? Most of the time the six students just stand there and does not do any physical activity. Any ideas?

You could have stations set up. Like games of 3 on 3 makes things move a lot quicker. If you play like queen of the court and have the winning side stay but the losing side rotate off and do ten jumping jacks or the team at the end with the most points gets to pick a silly fitness activity for the "losing" teams to do. Also while the students are off the could practice skills against the wall, or if advanced enough pass, ball control and pepper with a partner.

You can get better participation by changing the scoring system to the game to encourage passing. There's an article link below that shows you how to do this:

I like Stacey's thought of having small sided games. That is always good. But to have the "losing" team do jumping jacks as a punishment? Why would give exercise as a punishment for losing? Additionally you should be able to play volleyball without having a winner or loser. Explain to the students how to keep score, but then tell them that we are not worried about winning or losing, we are just focused on getting better.

You could always modify the rules. Instead of 3 hits allow 5, and even maybe allow it to bounce off the floor once too. This will give the students more of a chance to succeed and give more of an opportunity for more people to be engaged in the activity.
