I'm planning on coaching a high school soccer team while I am the Physical Education teacher there. As the new coach of any team I know you must be able to prove yourself and show your team you know what you are talking about and know exactly what you are doing. Although I have a very extensive knowledge of the game and the many different drills and other things that must be run in practice, there are still some things that are a little fuzzy. Certain subjects like cutting players, how hard to run your players in pre-season, and just team camaraderie are important subjects to know while being a coach and role model for these kids. Are there any good books or sites for a beginner coach that is looking for a sucessful career in soccer? One that really covers all subjects of being a coach and leaves no surprises for that first day of practice.
