The NFL suspends their players four games for a positive steroid test. When the players come back they are welcomed as if they came back from an injury. MLB on the other hand suspends their players, and the media blasts these players in the news. I believe this is showing our high school football players that although they may get caught cheating they can come back and no one will question their past. Any thoughts on this topic?

We all know that in professional sports, the gap of talent and ability is tiny, and that aspect creates the idea for these athletes to do something more than everyone else in their profession, to be better at their job. In high school, these gaps are much larger. There are great athletes, and then there are, to put it frankly, sub par athletes. I feel that steriods in high school sports are far less than what is percieved, due to the mass hysteria hype media puts on the professional athlete.

In my opinion steroids in high school should be an automatic ban from all sports they are involved in. The only possible way for this is to have testing on the high school athletes. By having such a harsh penalty it will show the athletes it is not worth it to try and gain a slight advantage on the competition.

I think that in order to stop pro athletes from using is to start testing in high school. I think that if they know they're going to be tested at every level of competition from the time they're in high school then that will decrease use across the country. Also, I know when I was in high school I knew a hand full of steroid users that played on my high school team and a few on different teams in surrounding area's school teams.
