My name is Ginny Popiolek ans I am the Supervisor of Health and Physical Education for Harford County Public Schools in Bel Air Maryland. I attended the workshop in Chicago and thought it was wonderful to discuss what initiatives various leaders were beginning in their areas. I look forward to hearing from other leaders.

Other Duties As Assigned. Does anyone have any suggestions as to multi-tasking many of the "other" duties that are assigned to those of us in leadership positions? Some days my list gets longer and longer and nothing gets checked off the list.

First, I am not writing with an answer to your question. I too would like to know how people deal with "Other" Duties. It seems that I am checking things off of my list, but the list never gets any shorter. My duties have grown from Health and Physical Education, to Nurses, English as a Second Language, Foreign Laguange, Alternative Education, and Auxillary Services. I feel all I try to do each day is keep my head above water. I have tried using a palm pilot for all my notes and address and tasks. I have tried setting aside certain parts of the day for different duties, but unfortunatly problems don't organize themselves in the same order as my schedule. If someone has a system that works well for them, I would be happy to hear about it too.
