I recently switched from an all day Field Day to going to 1/2 day. K-2 in the morning and 3-5 in the afternoon. Several parents complained because it was not all day. I was just wondering what other schools do as far as Field Day goes.

I also use to do the all day field day and it was just too much work keeping the kids going. I now have K-1 in the morning for 1 1/2 hours and the 3-5 in the afternoon for 2 hours and we finish w/ a class tug of war competition. The kids love it and so do the teachers.

To the parents who complain that it is not all day, tell them your reasons why you've made the change and if they still don't like your answer, have them run field day! ;)

It was so much easier only doing a 1/2 day. I would love to tell parents to go ahead and take it over!
