I am currently a Junior in college pursuing my physical education degree. I start student teaching in a year and was thinking of scenarios I may come across and this one I feel may be the toughest one I may encounter. "How do you get an obese child to participate in physical education class when he/she is resilient to all motivating tactics?"

This is my 14th year teaching elementary PE. This is a scenario that you will come across in nearly every class. I find that if you make your class more about "fun" and less about competition you will have more success getting them to participate. Very rarely do I keep score in class and like I said, place little emphasis on winning.
