My daughter attends a private elementary school with a PE program. I object to two games I see the PE teacher's often supervising; dodge ball and kickball. How as a parent do I gently approach the PE teacher to suggest this are not appropriate activities, with out offening the teachering??
(My background in teaching is in Adapted Physical Education mainly with preschool through elementary school children.) Thank you for any suggestions!! |

My suggestion is to try and talk to the teachers before/after school. Try to tell them your concerns about the games and see what they say.
To be honest, I'm a product of private schools and there is a very good chance that you may have more schooling than the PE teacher at the private school does. My PE teachers were never in physical education programs in college and didn't have the pedagogy training that we have. |
