I was just wondering what anyone thought about the idea of using headstands for a K-4 grade gymnastics unit. Is it a good idea or should I modify for a different activity? (neck support)???

I teach it to my 3-5 graders. Throughout my gymnastics unit I stress the importance of safety and spotting and would just make sure that you emphasize evenly distributing their weight so that it is not all on their heads. I have been teaching it for 8 years and have yet (fingers crossed) to have any type of injury. Just stress technique and proper form.
