Hello. I'm Eric and I'm a National Board Certified PE teacher in St. Augustine, FL. I would like to make myself available to be of any assistance to anyone in Florida going for the National Board Certification. I could help with reading entries and any other questions you may have.
Post a reply here and I'll get in touch with you.

If this is not the appropriate space to post this, please let me know where I ought to go. Thanks!

Were you able to get recertification with all the stuff you did for NBC PE? How much time did it take you to do all the work. I have a friend that almost passed the test after jumping through all the hoops for elem. ed. She refused to retake the test. I have about 7-10 more years of PE and wonder if the $$ would be worth it. email me at gatorpe@yahoo.com

In the state of Florida, if you have a current NBC, your state certification will be renewable for all subjects you are certified in. Inservice points will not be necessary. The average teacher takes 2-3 years or tries before they are NBC, so I would encourage your friend to retake it. You only retake portions of the test that you scored the lowest on, not the whole thing.

It took me roughly 100 hours to do the work. I refused to bring anything home. I had to come in for several Saturdays to get the work done.

In the state of Florida, they pay 90% of the costs to go for NBC. So, I took advantage of it and am now getting approx a 4k bonus every year for being a NBCT. So, it was worth it for me.
