Do you personally think it is acceptable for a physical education teacher to have (well-groomed) facial hair? I realized that every school has their own dress codes and regulations but what are your feelings on someone teaching Physical Education with a clean cut beard |

Facial hair should matter very little when it comes to reaching your goals as a teacher. From my personal experience as a student, my teacher's facial hair had nothing to do with: how much I learned from them, how much I respected them, or how much they motivated me to lead a physically active lifestyle. So, when you look at the big picture, it shouldn't matter at all whether or not you have facial hair. (As long as you abide by your school's dress-code, obviously.) |

I have had teachers all through highschool with facial hair. I never saw it to be a problem. I also had teachers whos facial hair was unkept and not very well taken care of. I never really thought any less of them because of it. |

I have no objections towards facial hair in the physical education setting, as long as it is allowed in your particaular school's dress code. Facial hair poses no safety issues, in fact facial hair shouldnt pose any issue, as long as it it well groomed. Remember, you are a representation of an entire faculty of that school, so if it is not groomed, it is not acceptable in my opinion. |

I have no problem with facial hair in Physical Education. From my own personal experience I have had teachers in other classes who had wild facial hair. I do believe that the hair should be well groomed and professional. |

I recall being told in college (a hundred years ago) that women's hair should not be longer than the shoulders.
I think facial hair falls in the same kind of thinking. It is appropriate if it is groomed and professional. Same goes for hair. |

I don't think that facial hair should be an issue. Facial hair has no effect on what the teacher is teaching or the knowledge that they can bring to you. |

I feel that facial hair is acceptable if kept well groomed, so to speak, when teaching P.E. Facial hair becomes unacceptable whenever it's not kept up with. Someone can have a beard as long as you can tell they are able to manage and keep themselves professional looking. |

I really do not think its a issue for P.E teachers to have facial hair as long as they keep it well groomed. If they do not keep it well groomed they should be informed because thats not professional looking and that can tell alot about a person which can turn out to be bad for the P.E. teacher. |

I believe that you should be clean cut in any job! That is my personal opinion. I think that it looks more professional and shows a sign of respect for your role and position as a professional in the work force. |

Did my post get deleted. I still wonder what hair tells about a person. From this reasoning a bald person is the ideal. |
