I have been hatching a plan to coerce my wonderful department to help me get every one of our 180 new intake of students - running correctly!
My plan is to video every one of them running from side on, on a treadmill, for about 15 seconds. We will then apply some very basic analysis (perhaps using analysis software - but not necessarily) in order to give each child a very basic crit on what is happening with their running!
My idea of course, is to try to correct any gait or posture problems early (aged 10/11). I believe if we can get their running right - everything else will fall into place? If they can't run correctly, it will be tough to realize potential in any other sporting arena.
