Contracted Phys-Ed

Author Message Milan Kiska (Mjk5833) Junior Member Username: Mjk5833 Post Number: 5 Registered: 10-2011 Posted on Sunday, October 16, 2011 - 11:40 am:        In my high school they had this "contracted phys-ed" class and basically it was the student was involved in a sports team at the high school and all they had to do was document all of there practices and games and then had to get it signed by the coach of whatever sport it was. once they got the documents filled out they took it to a phys ed teacher and they approved it for a physical education credit, but the student actually didnt have to be in a phys ed class. does anyone have opinions on this if it is a good idea or even acceptable?? Sports are great but P.E. can not be replaced by them. If a student writes articles for the school newspaper should they be exempt from literature? Or should they have to attend the class to expand their knowledge about the subject they enjoy? This is a topic that I feel needs to be addressed among school districts.
