What are some fitness activities that can be done outside for high school students that will challenge the students. This can be done with a track/soccer field/bleachers.

For a bleacher workout, I have students sprint up hitting every step, then every other step, side step ups both ways (similar to a shuffle), single leg hops up, double leg hops up, front lunges up (3 steps at a time) and side lunges up.

2 years ago I had someone come and train my football players. I incorporated some of his training techniques into my fitness classes. He used a lot of different sized tires from regular car tires to huge tractor tires. The students roll them up hills, pull them behind them while they are running, get low and push them with weights on top, get under the big ones and flip them over, vertical jumps on top of the big ones. The students do get a little dirty so you need to tell them before hand what they are going to be doing and wear dirty workout clothes. They will need to shower also. It’s great for long period classes and they do enjoy it.
