I know someone that takes over the counter sleeping pills and I was wondering if this is safe. If this person needs sleeping pills to sleep do you think that this person should go see a doctor to see if the long term effect of these sleeping pills are harmful and if they can be directed to use another method to fall asleep.

In my opinion, this person should see a doctor. Over the hcounter sleeping pills are not made to be taken on a regular basis, they're for the person who occasionally has trouble sleeping. If this person really has that much trouble falling asleep, they need to see a doctor and hopefully find other methods to sleep.
