Having done many different fitness videos in my own home, I have found many of them to be beneficial. As a current pe major, I think that incorporating these into current pe programs would be fun and successful. There are many videos out there to choose from. You can choose from dance, pilates, yoga, tae bo, and many more. What do others think of using videos for pe class? After working out to videos, the students could be asked to make up routines of their own as an assignment? Just wondering if this would be a good idea?

I feel using videos is an excellent way of helping students who visually learn. Videos also shows some skills that we, as pe teacher's, may not be able to show, for example I would show a butterfly swimming stoke and the critical elements of that by video. Videos enhance memory as well!!

I use videos to begin my group fitness classes. So for example we did kickboxing. I had a kickboxing video for the first two classes. The next two classes I would give informational packets to the students with kickboxing moves. I then let them create a routine of their own in small groups. Then on Friday students would present their routine and the others would participate until their turn was up.

Videos are great ways to learn through technology but everything should not be done with videos.
